Awareness of the value of systems thinking

Dr. Gary Metcalf recently shared information on the 2014 proceedings of the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR):

The article mentions the use of these discussions by “interested people” as a “next step”. However, I’ve found a greater awareness of systems thinking to be a current, not a future, need. Many stakeholder groups could act on this awareness, including business organizations (where applied research often takes place), funders (research supported when the potential benefits are clear), those higher education (academics are not always familiar with or versed in this discipline), and governing bodies (public policy decisions could be enhanced through a systems framework).

As a vibrant, visible international organization, the IFSR might consider acting and reporting on current outreach plans.

Comments about your experiences with systems thinking are welcome!
